Mads Larson Building Block

Mads Larson was so successful in business as a blacksmith that he was able to construct a business “block” or building in 1895. The Larson Block originally housed the offices of the Hartland News and Dairyman and the J.F. Ramsey Photography Studio, where skylights had been installed to allow the photographer additional light. The building was also a repository for the Hartland Public Library, a traveling library at that time. This building too, was demolished in 1986 to allow for the expansion of Valley Bank.
