Welcome!
Thank you visiting hartlandhistory.com! Our objective is to provide community members, and those who are interested in our village, a flavor of the times and an insight into the people who founded Hartland, how they earned their livelihood and how it grew into the wonderful place that is is today!

VILLAGE OF HARTLAND RATED #1 SUBURB BY MILWAUKEE MAGAZINE
The July 2005 issue of Milwaukee Magazine rated Hartland as the #1 suburb in the Milwaukee Metro area. The criteria used to arrive at this rating included the Crime Index, Education Index, Ease of Home Resale, Tax Index, Park Index, Safety Index and Services Index. We are very proud of our #1 ranking and wish to thank Milwaukee Magazine for the time and effort of their staff in arriving at this determination.

We have a strong community with wonderful residents, many of whom have contributed to make the current knowledge of our history possible.  Much of our material was gathered from the Hartland News/Lake Country Reporter, Waukesha County Historical Society, Hartland Public Library, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Women's Club of Hartland. This is a website in progress, and we welcome you to help contribute any photographs and stories to make this the best Hartland Historical Reference it can be!

Below are some Then and Now pictures to marvel at... of the downtown area.
