Hasslinger Brothers Meat Market
In July, 1897, the Hasslinger Meat Market opened for business. The market was a
joint parnership between Chrles Hasslinger and Hamilton Salsich. The small
building was originally known as the Salsich building. The partnership
kissolved two years later, and Charles Hasslinger went into partnership with
his brother Joseph, forming teh Hasslinger Brothers Meat Market. The market was
subsequently sold to William Palin, and the name was changed to the Palin Meat
Market.
The building was torn down in 1986 to make way for the expansion of Valley Bank, predecessor to M&I.
