This is the first home of one of Hartland’s earliest settlers, Mark and Sophronia Rowell, who came to Hartland in 1845. The Rowell Farm emcompassed land north of Caitol Drive to today’s Hightway 16. Their son, Mark Rowell, Jr., was instrumental in the tukey farming enterprise as well as the Hartland Driving Park.
